Group of people who are spread from their own country/region of origin to another.
The aim in becoming a central hub for the Gaeltachts, strengthening connections, forging and nurturing new links, in Ireland and abroad.
The Emigrants Commemorative Centre Carna
Located in the heart of Connemara, the Centre is dedicated to promoting the importance of the community and it’s people.
People of the Centre
With any community, it is people that are at the heart of it. None are more dedicated and work as selflessly as Máirtín Ó Catháin, Eibhlín Uí Dháibhís and Susan Uí Chatháin. Plus all the ambassadors who help promote not just the centre but Irish people as a whole.
Regions in Ireland that are scattered, for the most part, along the Western seaboard. In which the Irish Language is the primary spoken language in the community.
These Gaeltacht regions can be found in counties Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Kerry, Cork, Waterford and Meath, and are some of the most beautiful regions in the world and the richest in terms of culture and heritage.
